TV & Video Work

Original video formats developed and executive produced with an emphasis on narrative structure and repeatable concepts.

The Onion Presents: Iconic Images of Election 2016 (Fusion)

Executive Producer
Developed and executive produced a half-hour cable comedy special, adapting The Onion’s election-driven visual work into a cohesive longform broadcast event at the height of the 2016 presidential cycle.

Production Reel

Selected documentary and original video work spanning concept development, executive production, and on-camera storytelling.

A.V. Club Docuseries

Creator / Executive Producer

Developed and pitched a pop-culture docuseries—conceived as a “30 for 30” for pop culture—which received a pilot order from a major streaming platform.

The series explored defining cultural moments and figures through a longform documentary lens. Planned episodes included:

  • The Juggalo March on Washington: examining fans’ protest of the FBI’s designation of Insane Clown Posse supporters as a criminal gang.

  • Harris Wittels: a documentary exploration of the life, influence, and legacy of the beloved comedian and writer.

I led series development, selected episode topics, and supervised production from concept through pilot development.

Beneath the Headset: A Skeptic’s Journey into VR

Executive Producer / Writer

Developed and executive produced a one-hour documentary special for Rooster Teeth following A.V. Club editor John Teti—a vocal skeptic of virtual reality—as he visited companies building VR platforms and content to test whether the technology could finally live up to decades of hype.

I shaped the film’s narrative arc around skepticism versus evangelism, overseeing production and writing to balance cultural critique with technological exploration.

Stand Down

Creator / Executive Producer

Created and executive produced an animated web series for The A.V. Club in which stand-up comedians revisited their worst gigs and the lessons behind them.

I interviewed talent, shaped episode narratives, and supervised animation to transform personal stories into a repeatable animated format.

The series ran for two seasons with separate brand sponsors, demonstrating the concept’s scalability and commercial viability.

Featured episode: Patton Oswalt recounts the night an audience member—who seemed like the embodiment of a hacky film trope—inspired him to abandon his material entirely.

Pop Pilgrims

Executive Producer / Host

Developed and executive produced Pop Pilgrims, The A.V. Club’s travel series exploring real-world locations tied to film, television, music, and broader pop culture history.

Produced and hosted numerous episodes across four seasons, guiding the series from concept through execution while partnering with distinct brand sponsors for each season.
