Podcast Development & Editorial Leadership

I’ve been working in podcasting since the medium’s early growth phase, when a friend introduced me to Comedy Death-Ray Radio (now Comedy Bang! Bang!). At the A.V. Club, I championed the inclusion of podcasts in the site’s year-end coverage and went on to create Podmass, a pioneering weekly review feature widely recognized as the first of its kind.

Podcasts have been central to my development work ever since, becoming my full focus when I joined Exactly Right Media in 2022. I’m a firm believer in the power of the medium—and yes, I’m still listening to Comedy Bang! Bang! 900+ episodes later.

Two-Faced:
John of God

DEVELOPMENT

To thousands of people around the world, João Teixeira de Faria was known as John of God, a traditional Brazilian spiritual healer famous for performing miraculous medical procedures without anesthesia. But in 2018, it became clear that John of God was keeping a dark secret that would ultimately lead to his downfall. In this series, we follow a guru who built a holy empire, the criminal activity that made it possible and the powerful network of believers who protect him even to this day. Two-Faced: John of God is a story about the reach of global faith healing movements, the power of belief and just how far we will go before we question it all.

Recognizing an opportunity to broaden Exactly Right’s audience through multi-lingual storytelling, I initiated this project and partnered with the great Martina Castro and Adonde Media to develop the concept and map the series from the ground up. It was the final show I developed at Exactly Right—a fitting capstone that combined editorial strategy with hands-on creative development.

The Butterfly King:
A WWII Mystery

CONSULTING PRODUCER

When King Boris III of Bulgaria dies amid mysterious circumstances during World War II, there's no shortage of suspects. But 80 years later, his death remains unsolved. Award-winning journalist Becky Milligan follows a trail of dissidents, poisoners, soldiers and spies to unravel 80 years of lies and cover-ups. This tragic family saga of a doomed royal dynasty is a story of treachery, deceit and a quest for the truth. Who killed the Butterfly King?

I developed and produced the series, which we co-produced with the incredible team at Blanchard House.

Infamous International:
The Pink Panthers Story

CONSULTING PRODUCER

The Pink Panthers are the world’s most notorious jewel thieves, a shadowy Serbian crime syndicate who specialize in elaborate smash-and-grab heists that take only minutes, but net millions. They strike ultra-exclusive jewelry stores in places like Dubai, London and Monaco, using brute force and cinematic flair that make headlines and “most wanted” lists.

I developed and produced the series, which we co-produced with Best Case Studios.

Tenfold More Wicked:
A Blessing and a Curse

CONSULTING PRODUCER

The 12th and final season of Tenfold More Wicked is called “A Blessing and a Curse,” and it looks at events that have transpired in one Massachusetts city over the course of more than 150 years. There have been enough of them that more than a few locals believe the city is cursed.

I assisted with scripting, fact-checking, and producing for multiple seasons of Tenfold More Wicked.

The Butterfly King is a masterclass in suspenseful sleuthing and creative storytelling... As well as a compelling whodunnit, the series is a fascinating meditation on the grey area between good and evil.”
