About

Kyle Ryan is a writer and editor living in Chicago, where he works for The A.V. Club, the pop-culture wing of The Onion. He had his first taste of journalism his junior year of high school, when he had a large feature about the futility of the war on drugs published in the zine Maximum RocknRoll. After that, he started interviewing bands, and he never really stopped. He serves as managing editor for The A.V. Club, writing interviews and reviews, editing stuff, and hosting the Reasonable Discussions podcast. He lives with his wife, photojournalist Sally Ryan, and their orange tabby, Norman, on the far north side of Chicago.
